A Special Day.

Image
A daughters Wedding day is so special for a Mother. I have been thinking about creating a book for a Mother to keep as a journal of the occasion of her daughters wedding, with pages to fill and lots of pockets to keep mementoes. Here is the front cover with a button heart and machine embroidered flowers. I've used lots of lace and pretty fabrics. I like the idea of showing her early days, writing stories of a childhood and adding pictures along the way. There is lots of space to fill with memories.. A gorgeous hand crocheted background for a bouquet of flowers. Long pockets to keep an invitation, order of service or menu. When the book has been filled it will be a wonderful reminder of a Special Day that can be kept and cherished. I hope to take commissions so will be showing my book at Wedding  Fairs along with some other designs for Vintage brides. I'm off to The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham in a couple of days. I'll tak

Tea cups and lace.

I love this pretty tea cup with its lovely shaped matching plate. My lace tea cosy keeps everything hot until the very last cup..... Fruit, flowers and a gold edging, delightful. I made this lavender scented heart garland to go in my Etsy shop, lace and roses are more of my favourite things..... click on the link on my side bar to visit. I'm linking with Martha for tea cup Tuesday, pop over to see more reasons to drink tea, xox Angela.

And so to Quilt, a journal.

You know how it is, you're off to a workshop, you need to have a notebook, your pins and needles, maybe a bit of lace or ribbon and some inspirational thoughts. I design my Quilters books for all those things. I used fabrics left over from Ediths quilt, the colours are so nice I didn't want to waste a scrap.... The hexagons were hand stitched while I was in London house and cat sitting... I've used lots of lace and a crepe fabric tie... I like to have lots of pockets to hold precious things and little sayings that I love...... a special pocket for quilt labels..... pages to fill.... more sayings.... plenty of room for notes and inspiration..... a place to keep needles and pins....... it's a great feeling when a quilt from your own imagination is completed... These books are to treasure, I always hope that the owner will continue to add her own bits and pieces so it will grow into a real heirloom!!! I'l
