Romantic Devon.

I love to walk by the sea and in the countryside in our beautiful county. Living in a tourist area there are lots of people around when I walk but sometimes,  it's solitude I need and on Saturday I found just that.

The Dartmoor National Park stretches over the centre of Devon and has some breathtaking scenery.

                                               Miles and miles of moorland.
                                       Distant views of the sea.
                                      Granite outcrops.

                                                                   Old tracks

                                             and pretty Dartmoor ponies.

This too can be a busy place but today was one of those rare days when the sun was shining, the Skylarks were singing as they soared upwards and I walked in complete solitude. It was like a little bit of heaven.

I finished my walk here, a little hidden treasure with no one around and only the sound of ... well nothing.

I sat on a rock alone with my thoughts, absolute bliss!!!!
Then back to the car, a skinny latte and back to my day feeling great.

We all dash about all day in the hubbub of daily life.

As my brother says, ''sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I justs sits''.

Don't forget to take a little time out for yourself. It's up to your whether you think or not!

Thank-you, Angela, for taking me along on your journey today. I've been in love with that beautiful area since reading "Lorna Doone" so long ago, and would love to take a walk like you did there someday...

Hope the rest of your day has been just as peaceful...

I know exactly where you went :-) xxxx
Good that only a few know where to find this. Away from the wind it has a mini climate of all of it's own. Aren't we the lucky one's. :-)xxx

This is a beautiful post of a beautiful place! I would love to come to Engladnd - it looks so amazing. My husband and I are going to France this Spring and then the British Isles are next on the list.
I understand what you mean about how nice it is to have a place to yourself for a while. I need a fair amount of alone time myself!

Just gorgeous! Is there anything else like the English countryside? I've never been to England and long to visit one day, but I do watch A LOT of BBC and movies based on classical literature set in England, and I swear I've seen these pictures in those movies before! Just breathtaking!

Oh wow, this is so different than where I live. We do however have lots of trees, rocks and greenery. Just different. Solitude can be a really nice thing. Thank you for sharing these pics.
Hugs,
Olivia
