Cabbages and Roses

Roses and lace and beautiful fabrics....can't resist them!!

This latest journal in a blend of all three,

Who wouldn't love to keep there secrets in a pretty book kept by the bed!!

                                                     Pages of luscious laces............

                                                    Gorgeous fabrics..............

Blank pages ready to add your thoughts, hopes and dreams.........

                                       and lots of delicious embellishments.............

I'll be listing this in my Etsy shop today along with this yellow silk pocket,

It has been embroidered with soft green leaves and has Devon violets stitched on. I made them by free machining over water soluble fabric then stitching them in place and adding seed beads to the centres.

The back has more machine embroidery....

The pocket has been lined with a soft check cotton and the zip has a hand made tassel with seed beads on the skirt.

I love to stitch and I love textiles, and love to extend my skills as learning is such a joy. I shall be joining a Fibrecraft course at Bicton College starting next week this will teach me the art of making felt. I went for a taster day yesterday and loved it. The tutor, Gill Burbidge is really an inspirational lady and I'm sure I will develop some great new techniques. I have always admired Nuno felt scarves and bags so now I shall be making my own.

I'll keep you all involved and hope you will follow my progress on the course.

Have an inspiring and creative week.

xox Angela.

Beautiful, beautiful journal, dear Angela, the colour tones are so lovely, and the fabrics you used so adorable, and the silk pocket is the sweetest piece also, with your violets.
Both pieces gorgeous.
Hugs, Dorthe
Hello Angela
This is just the most gorgeous little book for memories. I love how you have blended all the colours together - such pretty prints and lace.
The cover is so rich!
Your silk purse with the machine stitched leaves is so beautifully created also.
Hugs from a cooler place at last!
