Over the holiday I have had time to evaluate where I want my business to go in 2013 and as I've always loved making quilts I sat and pieced, embroidered and quilted.
I love roses in soft delicate shades and was drawn to these pretty fabrics.
I've seen wonky cross quilts made by my fellow bloggers.
I love hand embroidery, it's an never ending passion.
This quilt, for a little girl, is a combination of all of the above.
I've called it 'Little girls bring...' and the words ..smiles...hugs....kisses...love.....hope....joy..
really are just the thing.
Each appliquéd hexagon has a different word and the centres of the other crosses have a bullion rose and scrolls.
There is some free machine quilting with a leaf design. I used Dream Cotton wadding and a lovely soft cream flannel for the backing, so it's warm and cosy.
This little quilt measures approx 30"x40" and would make a pretty comforter or would be lovely over little legs in the car.
I'll be listing it in my Etsy shop today.
Do you collect brown transferware? This English sauce boat will be listed too.
I'm going to use up the scraps from the quilt to make some little things to go on Etsy, I made a pledge to use them up before I move on... Watch this Space!!
Have a great weekend.
xox Angela.
